Swan

Brushing the snow off of the car today was like scattering downy feathers in the breeze. The snowflakes were big and seemed to touch the ground on their tiptoes; standing on edge without breaking or melting even the smallest point. Frost. Feathers. Tiptoes. These little things are not only wonders themselves but pregnant with deeper meaning. They remind me of Manna in the desert, God's provision, and the freedom found in Christ.

When the dew had gone up, there was on the face of the wilderness a fine, flake-like thing, fine as frost on the ground. When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.”

- Ex 16:13-15

Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

- Matt 6:25-33

“The bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” ...Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”

- John 6:33-35
