SNOWY OWL - WIP

Today was a blizzardy day in eastern Iowa. Although I hope that it does not do damage to the old frozen trees or the city power lines, I really do love the wind! Some may hear in it a parable of emptiness or vanity, it passes so quickly and goes nowhere (Eccles. 1:6); or they may see it as heartless chaos, it bites and destroys without mercy (Job 1:19). I hear in it a parable of God’s greatness. He speaks in the whirlwind of his power that goes beyond our ability to see or understand. This is a fearful thing and a great comfort.

The LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind...

“Where is the way to the dwelling of light,

and where is the place of darkness...

You know, for you were born then,

and the number of your days is great!

Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,

or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,

which I have reserved for the time of trouble,

for the day of battle and war?”

Then Job answered the LORD and said:

“I know that you can do all things,

and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted...

I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear,

but now my eye sees you;

therefore I despise myself,

and repent in dust and ashes.”

Job 38-42

< The icicles outside my window after the storm WIP. I was a little ambitious with this one! Hopefully I will be able to upload a picture of it soon.
